Valuation and Homebuyer's

My broker has submitted a mortgage application on my behalf to Natwest. It seemed to require payment for the valuation fees and also a Homebuyer's survey. I thought the survey was something I had to arrange separately - is it normal for a lender to offer a valuation and Homebuyer's survey combo?
If I want to purchase home buyer's insurance, I think I need to purchase before a survey is carried out. In this case, I suppose I need to be told when the survey date will be? Does anyone know if Natwest will notify me/broker of the survey date and if so, how soon after application this tends to be?
Many thanks!

Questions you should be asking your broker.
Nat West wont do a Homebuyer until instructed to do so. Any such instruction has presumably come from your Broker.I am a Mortgage Broker
