Hi all
Its raining non stop at the mo and my two little ones need entertaining. Any ideas on how to cook simple things such as cornflake cakes (does anyone know how to make these?) I have no cake tins etc here just a baking sheet.
Advice very welcomed

Any other ideas on what to do to entertain would be good too.

Hi
You just melt the chocolate and stir in the cornflakes. Spoon them into bun cases and pop in the fridge to set more quickly.
How about making some bread dough up that they could make shapes and animals out of - bit like the mice and hedgehogs on Frogga's thread. Snails would be easy as well. Use raisins for eyes etc.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Excellent idea! Thanks.
Forgot to mention that I'm in a different country, we'll try to find yeast (but not very sure this will happen) ;-)

Twinks Hobnobs are very simple, and will keep them occupied if you have/can get the ingredients.
Where are you by the way? are you on holiday?0 -

My lad makes jam tarts with the ends of any pastry I make. I just leave him to get on with it and it keeps him amused for a while, while I'm faffing about with the rest of dinner. Maybe they'd be okay in bun cases if you don't have the right kind of tray? (They'd spread less than buns.)
He likes making Twinks hobnobs too.
Penny Penguin posted a recipe for coconut macaroons recently too that looked easy. I'll see if I can find it.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
My 16 mth old DD will happily spend AGES running around the house with a feather duster. She 'dusts' the floor and anything else she can reach, and when she gets bored of dusting she uses it to tickle us with!! She especially likes to do it when only wearing a nappy as the feathers tickle her tummy / legs as she runs!!!
How old are your littlies??I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
Coconut macaroons.
Try having a look in the families board too. There are lots of ideas for activities with young ones in there. And playdough recipes too.
and remember you don't need biscuit cutters to make biscuits. The ones you have to roll out can just be cut into squares with a knife and baked like that.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
