Been on other threads on the forums for a while, but as I completed on my house yesterday, I am now joining the MFW brigade!! Am hoping my mortgage account details will be added to my online banking so I can see the effect of overpayments, but not sure if that happens or not?
But regardless.... the more I can do to pay it off faster, the better! :money:

Thank you, yes, the calculators are great aren't they!! I just wish I could see the mortgage details online so I could see the effect showing on there straightaway... But that's just a little thing :-)Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0

Well, set up the internet banking details and made my first overpayment of £40 - starting as I mean to go on!! (and it's only the first month... I'm not keen, lol!!)
Loving the calculators - especially when I can see a report showing the total going down month by month :-)Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
How much did that £40 take off?
If you go to www.whatsthecost.co.uk then you can create a snowball which will show your debt free date for all of your debts. You then update it monthly and can see your date becoming ever closer!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Don't forget to compare your mortgages rates against the best paying ISA's. You may find it better to invest in an ISA than overpay. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0

Best of luck! - the ability to look at the balance online does really help if your account can do this... :beer:0
