How much do underwriters check your employer?

Hello

We are applying for our second mortgage because my partner lost his job during the first one so we had to cancel.

He is now working for a relatively new company (1 year 7 months old) that specialises in educating Chinese students in England – so primarily based in China! The company hasn’t filed any accounts yet and they don’t even have a website yet!

I am nervous that we may be refused a mortgage because of the company. How much do the underwriters vet your employer?
