Hi all,

Remortgaging. Decent six-figure income, 72% LTV and an OK credit score. Some silly arrears with EON that's gone to the ombudsman but otherwise no missed payments in 8 years.

Had a DIP from HSBC with no referral to the underwriters. Now they want bank statements for a month, and here lies the problem.

1) Went deep into overdraft due to car costs. Now almost out again but that doesn't show on statement. In fact, for an hour I went over my agreed limit (even though wife's overdraft was untouched, so as a couple we were OK) which was effing stupid, I know.
2) There's a standing order repaying a loan to my parents.

MA insists he think it'll be fine, but it's a £99 booking fee and feels like throwing money away because I can't see that they'll lend under these circumstances.

Any thoughts based on recent experiences with HSBC?

Also, does anyone know which lenders don't typically ask for bank statements?

Thanks in advance!

NatWest definitely ask for bank statements, and didn't like going over agreed limit OD - maybe avoid them too!

A good broke will know the best bank to put you with - not sure if you're going down that route?

This is all via a broker - L&C. I've explained my concerns but the MA still thinks I'm going to be offered the mortgage. I just find it very hard to believe.

Not necessarily. Depends on loan to value and/or loan size. The OP is saying 72% LTV.

As you can see, under £500k and 75%, no requirement for bank statements.

Yes, NatWest won't lend for three months on poor conduct on an RBS Group account but if they can't see it because it's another provider (which feeds information to a different CRA) they can't use it.
