Buying the staff food waste at work

Hey everyone. I just wondered if anyone enjoys buying staff food waste at work. I work at M&S and we never reduce anything going out of date, therefore the staff get to enjoy some fantastic bargains at the end of the day. Everything is reduced to a minimum of 75% off with milk, sandwiches and bread costing just a few pennies!
Not everything goes out of date the next day! for example i seen some cheese that had a display date that was ending but the best before date was a week away. Ofcourse, the food is going out of date but many of the stuff will be just fine to eat several days after.
Many of the staff describe buying the waste as 'the best part of the day'. I usually cannot help myself going mad for it :j
Does anyone else who works in retail know of a shop other than M&S that does not sell their near out of date food aka waste to the customers, but rather the staff?

Surely M&S does this so they don't get the "dodgey people" looking for cheap food coming into their wonderful stores which sell the best food and have the best customers (i.e. the rich ones). I'm sure it also makes up for the barely above min wage pay.
Probably the other snobby shops Harrods and Selfridges do the same.0 -
im sorry ive got to dissagree, my daughter, aged 16 has just started a saturday job at m&s and gets £5.75 an hour whenthe minimum wage for her age is £3.40. when she did training .... meaning 2 extra days that week they paid her overtime rate for them 2 days.. time and a half!!! i love getting the bargains shes gets from waste at the end of the day and also the 20% staff discount!0
