Have posted a few posts on here recently about our mortgage woes so this is maybe late in the day to reqch out for last minute advice/help.
I will not go into our full case but we have a few credit blips as in missed payments in the last 24 months and quite a bit of credit on high utilisation although have cleared around 6k of this now.
We have been using a broker and yes we are far from a perfect case and have hitches along the way plus our broker has had a few blips along the way such as not understanding the process for HTB, New builds and putting our names in the wrong order on a high street application which meant we got a DIP and was only 3 weeks later just before a potential mortgage offer that it was discovered and we got rejected.
We are now in a position where they are going back to a high street lender to see about an AIP and also a more specialist one to check with them. We have been committed to stay with this broker and have paid an upfront fee but today when discussing our chances they mentioned the fact our credit score on the likes of experian was high so that is good. Now reading about how credit scores are just made up numbers this has really worried me as to how good a broker we have for our circumstances.
Dont get me wrong we are not an ideal case but when I add things up these little things are now worrying me especially with the Natwest fiasco and now the mention of our credit score.
We are maybe late in tbe day as have reserved a property, got the HTB ATP, paid for our searches and on the verge of choosing our options but anyone got any recommendtions or any good brokers on here but understand if cannot offer your services or even want to with our case ha

I think you probably need to bin any broker who believes in the credit score fairy.0

Well that is what I mean, I mean our case is not easy but that means we need a good broker even more so yea things like wrong names on an application form can happen but it is worrying me more what else they are believing if they are basing our chances on what my credit score number is and not my actual report!!!0 -
Try Mortgage Advice Bureau or London and Country. Neither charges borrowers, so no cost payable there.0

I was looking into L&C but then a few people advised if you have credit history issues and the case was not straight forward then they are not ideal for that and need a specialist0 -
Yes, you need someone who regularly does HTB with credit blips.
Your broker does sound all over the shop. On these cases we check all three credit files and then decide if there is any main stream lending potential. We would not be applying in two places at once.I am a Mortgage Broker

Thanks, finding a good broker is the hard bit as I dont think the likes of L&C and maybe other mainstream ones would suit our circumstances0
