One of the problems with this forum is people invent facts and despite no evidence offered you are now claiming this person was dismissed for being of a different race or sexual orientation. It is shameful.

One of the problems of this forum is that people don't read what's written! I suggested it was a scenario which needed to be considered, not that it was a reality.

Nobody has yet been dismissed - do read more carefully before leaping to conclusions - and worse, judgement.

This is unlikely as in your scenario there was also a racist third person who witnessed this but didn’t want to make a statement.

People often don't want to get involved. They are especially keen not to be quoted when they have been 'asked' to say something - hence the need for full and proper investigation, rather than your assertion that 'the guy is certainly going to get dismissed'.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Not what the poster said. Read it again: 'There is no minimum period of qualifying service to bring a claim for unlawful discrimination if the above holds good. Think about it before proceeding in haste.'

A sensible word of caution is hardly 'inventing facts'.

They posted absolute rubbish. The OP has not mentioned any facts which make you think race or sexual orientation was part of this issue.

The OP has provided a statement that three people have seen one employee behave inappropriately in work. One won’t report it formally but two have. The employee has been there for five weeks and has been suspended.

It is incredible naive to assume he will be back at work....

So the third person doesn't want be a snitch but is willing to let a bully get away with their behaviour - I hate this warped sense of honour and justice that bullies rely on to continue bullying.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

I have no idea/ comment about the original situation but I recognise the scenario with the 'witness'
I've had this situation a few times , people tell you something , therefore making it your problem , and often with the insinuation that you should' do something'. But they 'don't want to make trouble' themselves.
Tell him 'put up or shut up '

    Thank you for the replies

I decided to tell my manager about the third witness as after careful consideration I thought it was the right thing to do

The employee that had been suspended no longer works for us
