Hi all,
Robert Dyas are currently selling digital photo key rings for the bargain price of £9.99. The key rings hold up to 74 images, and IMO would make a great Christmas present. Available instore or online, although obviously a postage charge applies online.
Here is the link for more info:-

And BTW, if you are my sister and you are reading this...... this is all a big, big, joke and they are really far far more expensive.

Anyone actually seen one of these (digital key-rings in general, not necessarily the one referred to above)?
They look like a great Christmas idea, but I guess you want a balance of cheap with quality - want to be able to actually make out what the pictures are, want it to last past Boxing Day etc...
Seems there are a whole range, from ones for a couple of quid on eBay, up to smart looking ones like this http://www.gadgetsarcade.com/digital-photo-keychain-grey-p-461.html.
All words of wisdom welcome...0 -
These look "really" small - has anyone seen one in practice? Are the pictures practical?

I have seen my friend's advent one (PC World - £12)
It's OK, but it has a screen around 1".
Quite bulky overall - charges from a USB.
His has an 8mb memory, which is OK as the images would only need to be around 10-20K each, as it is low resolution.
If you have seen a current clamshell mobile phone c/w an outside screen, it's about that size.
Make of it what you will....

Thanks stockwell - so it's a case of "This is my newt. I call him small." "Why do you call him small?" "Because he's my newt", then.
Got a V3 (thanks to HUKD) for £29.99 a couple of months back, and I don't have the highest opinion of the outer screen - think I'll pass.

They also have these in Makro, think they were £9.99 too. Didn't get one 'cos they seem a bit gimmicky. I think you may as well put your favourite piccy on your mobile as a screensaver! - only my opinion though. They are a bit bulky for a keyring. If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0

I bought one of these on ebay from Hong Kong , The picture quality is actualy quite good - similar to a mobile phone.
A good stocking filler!0 -
I too have one from ebay. the quality is good, they are easy to use and charge from usb. only prob is my husband drove my car for 3 months and had the key ring and the screen has developed lines across it due to not being handled carefully. i will definately get another one though.0
