Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me find a new apron. The current one I own (blue, butcher style) is too narrow in the top bib part. I have once again ruined a top. The issue is too much boob and not enough bib to cover them when cooking. :rotfl:
Like many people on the Old Style part of the forum I cook more, or less everything from scratch so the apron gets used a lot. I know this sounds daft, but it is really starting to annoy me and most aprons seem to be the same.
Has anyone found an apron designed for larger chest sizes. So any ideas, or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
spider

How about a tabard top
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ladies-Checkered-Home-Tabards-Aprons/dp/B00EOQJALQThe best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
What about a dinner lady style tabard- not exactly pretty, but would save clothesNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
Make one? Dead easy I think.
Or try a catering one, do Alexander overalls still exist? If not, any catering supply company. :j:D:beer::eek::A:p:rotfl::cool::):(:T0 -
Thanks for the ideas.
I think a tabard is probably the best thing to buy.0 -
Thinking old- style could you improvise with a tea towel tucked in the top and fastened at the waist, or even adapt one with a press stud or Velcro fastening so it is more of a napkin-style around your neck? Would cover everything then. You can buy something similar,I think they are called adult feeding bibs? The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

How about a vintage style wrap around apron? You could look like a glamorous 50's housewife. Or probably in my case Norah Batty.0

Thanks for the idea. I cannot find one to buy, but I can probably find a pattern to make one.
Glamorous 50's housewife - well I have the hourglass figure. Unfortunately, the rest of me does not really fit the description. I have described myself on here before as looking like a female Viking warrior, a big strapping lass with size 9 feetSo glamorous housewife no - but if you ever need your garden patio re-doing then give me a call. I'm the woman for the job.
Anyway, my husband will also be wearing the apron and I just know he will look more glamorous then me in it0 -
I'm no great seamstress but I should think it would be easyish to make one...if you lay the one you have over news paper then cut out a pattern at the size you want then hem....the tabard is a good idea lots of cover in one of them xxonwards and upwards0

Not really moneysaving but this one is gorgeous. Not sure if it's wide enough at the top for you?0 -
Another vote for make one.
I just lay the existing apron on the fabric, cut generously around, in your case adding in extra boob width. Hem and attach tape of make fabric ties. Tape easier.
Buying easier stillNorn Iron Club member 4730
