Best Offset Mortgage

As per a previous post I am looking into an offset mortgage, when my current mortgage deal ends, as I have a decent amount of savings.
My idea behind it was, as well as making use of the offset mortgage, was that I wouldn't need to go thru the whole re-mortgage process every 2/3 5 etc etc years. That would be me done.
However, from my initial research it looks like off set mortgages are similar to repayment mortgages, in that they give you a deal for a period and then default to a higher rate.
Just wondering if anyone knows of the best lifetime offset mortgage so I don't have to keep changing - does this even exist?
