I liked the latte shakes as they weren't quite as sweet as the other flavours - when I could drink milk. The rest of the stuff was incredibly sugary/vile and the 'food' is vile. As if you actually 'need' glorified biscuits and crisps in a day - save the calories and add them to the proper meal.
I do like the new vegan and lactose free ready mixed shakes (I'm terrible for eating during the day, especially when meds make me feel ill - having a shake straight from the fridge is easy and is easy on the stomach) - the powders are also much better in terms of not being so sweet, but are a different texture - for them to be nice rather than something to be got through takes access to ice and a blender, by which point you might as well make your own smoothies with milk of your choice, oats, chia seeds and fruit or other flavourings + a multivitamin at some point during the day.
Whilst I do find that they definitely stop hunger, so all you need to do is drink plenty of water during the day and have a proper meal at night, I'm not doing it as a crash dieting thing, it being that if I don't, I won't eat, so it could well be different if somebody is actually trying to lose weight. For some people with disordered eating patterns/consistently overeat when not even physically hungry, I think they should probably have to carry a warning saying 'this is instead of eating - it is not a magic potion'.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I used to give my son the shakes to drink, not to lose weight but to make sure he had some calories in him when he refused food. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0

What utter billhooks!!!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
These products can work to lose weight temporarily but what's the strategy when you stop (assuming your not going to eat slimfast for the rest of your life).
You need habits that you can live with for the rest of your life.0 -
I tried them when I was younger. They tasted great, but the pre-made bottles were small and didn't fill me up. I was hungry and miserable and only lost a few lbs before I gave up and ate real food.
I don't know if things have improved but I wouldn't recommend them.0 -
They're loaded with sugar. Eat a balanced diet, and cut sugar out of your beverages. The weight will just melt off.0

Good for a very quick fix but they contain 20g sugar per portion so VERY bad for you. Especially if any issues with insulin resistance. Maybe try making your own protein shakes. Eg milk, Greek yoghurt, spinach, berries, banana or oats if you!!!8217;re wanting to go down shake route.0

Why do down the shake route !!!
There is no point doing anything you aren't prepared to do for the rest of your life because that's how long you are going to have to watch your weight and not be able to just eat what you like.
So there's no point planning for a run at 5a.m. if you aren't going to be doing it next week let alone 6 months time !!
They can work but are very short term because most people have no strategy for after.
Eat less (portion sizes are generally way to big).
Eat whatever things you like but watch the portion size.
Deprivation doesn't work.
Try to increase your exercise - doesn't have to be the gym, just a bit of walking will do.
I go and talk to people around my office rather than calling or emailling them and it's a lot nicer.
Weird fads aren't going to work for the rest of your life.
Reasonable portion sizes will work and you can eat what you like, providing you watch your portions.0 -
I think they do have their place, they're good for getting started and getting your stomach used to less food when used for a week or so, they make it easier to cut down on portion size and not feel hungry and they do give fast results at first, giving you the encouragement to carry on with better eating habits.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
