I will be shortly going Bankrupt and so I wanted to get a Basic Account up and running asap. Could I have some examples of banks that offer them (not Barclays).
Thanks

we use coop, but takes ages to set up0

I have Co-op Cashminder. Quick and easy to set up (make sure it's definitely a Cashminder they give you, I was given an normal current account at first before I realised). Although it's now nearly 4 years since I became bankrupt I haven't bothered changing it as it gives me everything I need. (online, phone app etc).

Nationwide. Brilliant account. No fees for unplanned overdraft or bounced DD.
Had it before BR. Allowed to keep it after BR as well.0 -
Agree with above - Nationwide have been very good.0

When applying for Nationwide, make sure you select the zero overdraft facility option0

!00% nationwide....
Easy set up online and also Apple Pay.
Stay away from Barclays0 -
LLoyds offer basic bank account. No OD / Credit but online banking, visa debit card and so on. I just got one opened today and my credit file is a disgrace. Applied online, took some ID into the branch an hour later got the email with my account nr / sort code. No monthly fee.
Think Money also another choice but it does cost you £17.50 per month. I use them for my business banking as the app is really good as is the online banking system. Shows all transactions in real time (unlike RBS who can take 24 hours to post) downside is support can be hit and miss. ThinkMoney also offer various in house small credit facilities which I dont use.
So im going to use Llyods for personal as RBS have been crap the past year and Think Money for my business transactions.
Plenty of high street banks now offering decent basic bank accounts.0 -
As other have said Nationwide is really good, done all of mine online, was fully up and running with a card and online banking in a week, card is also contactless.
They did however send me a letter once i was declared bankrupt saying they have been informed, but as my account was set up after the date it was fine, may not be an issue but if you set it up before then you may have problems, best speak to them0 -
Are there any fees for not using card for a long time in Nationwide?0
