Railcard Question

Over the next year I'm likely to make a few train journeys from the Midlands to Manchester, I can usually get the return for about £50 using the split ticket system, but I've just read the article on the main forum about cheap train travel which says that if you're going to spend over £90 in a year, it might be worth buying a railcard.
Sorry if I'm not reading it right, but is there a general railcard available?
I seem to be either too old or too young, I'm not a student or disabled, and I'd be travelling alone, so I can't see any which seem to fit
I do use Clubcard points on Red Spotted Hanky when I can, but I get so few now that if hardly makes a dent in the ticket price
