Derma Rolling Under and Around Eyes?

Is it safe to use a 0.25mm or 0.50mm roller to reduce wrinkles around the eyes as long as you don't get too close to the eyes?
And is it effective or not worth it?
Also, I've heard the 540 pin derma rollers are actually metal discs and not needles so not as good as the 192/200 rollers.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.
