Mortgage Lenders and Credit Agencies

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone can help? I have checked all three of my credit reports and the score is as follows:
Experian: Excellent
Equifax: Very Good
CallCredit: Very Poor (Shows PDL lenders, My stupid past)

*All accounts are up-to-date and have the correct addresses and information.

I understand that certain companies report to different agencies..
But I am getting a Mortgage in the up coming months and looking around high street lenders, but I'm concerned that they use all three for checking and my CallCredit will be my downfall.

Any advice if anyone knows what agencies some high street banks use as of 2018 please?
Many thanks
Si

Your credit score on those reports is worthless.
The mortgage lenders will use the information on there (balances, payment history and so on) not the scores. They will combine that information with the information from your application and then score you using their own system.

Best bet is to speak to a broker and see if they can approach a specialist lender

All your scores and ratings are made up so ignore them like a drunk on a night bus.

What details appear on each of your three accounts? What are the key negatives? How old are your PDLs?
  • Hi All,

I know the scores don't mean anything I'm more concerned about PDL on Call Credit and that's the only one that shows a Default on the account.

Experian and Equifax don't show that default.

    Thanks

How long ago is the PDL history and how frequent?
  • Very Frequent but are over 12 months ago.

the most activity was in 2013/14 when i was in a PDL trap i couldn't get out of.
is it 100% i would have to show all credit reports to lenders? i find it weird that they are squeaky clean on two but not on one of them.

If it's over 12 months ago then I couldn't see a high street lender having much of a problem: I have a history in the last 12 months that I told my broker about, and he said lenders such as Halifax, Santander and Natwest didn't have a problem with them.

Certain lenders only report to some agencies, so for example Halifax report to all 3 but Santander only to Experian and Equifax.

The default will depend on how long ago it was and how much for, I imagine.
  • thanks FTBNow

the default is from 2016 for £800

I read an article on moneysavingexpert about what credit agency high street lenders use and it says Santander use all three and this was my first choice as I already have 50k in savings with them and can produce 50% LTV but still worried they will be bringing up CallCredit.

Are you not picking up the jist, that you really need to be sitting down with a mortgage broker?

Try and wing it all you want, but dont then moan that you have knackered your credit score up even further by not knowing what you are doing...
