I just wanted to come back with an update to this thread and say that we made it - the 12 months from the DRO issue date has now passed and we are so relieved!!
I'm pretty sure that there is nothing more for us (OH) to do but if I am wrong, please correct me.
I would like to say thank you again to all that helped on this thread - your advice really was a lifesaver for us and we are so grateful.
I also hope that this thread may help anyone else who may find themselves in similar circumstances and my advice to them would be don't be afraid to ask for help, it makes a problem much easier to deal with when you know you are not alone.
We still have some hurdles to jump (but that's another thread
) so I won't bore you with it on this one.

Do a print-out of your entry on the insolvency register in case anyone needs proof that it completed. The entry disappears completely 3 months after the dro completes.
