Applying for new mortgage but been off sick

I have sold my house and found a new house to buy which is a new build which won’t be ready until Aug/Sept.

I have had my dip approved and just about to submit full application to lenders who I currently bank with. I am going through the mortgage consultant at the bank.

Unfortunately I have been off sick for the last 6 weeks due to stress as my daughter had her medication changed and we were required to attend more hospital appointments, she has had her review and they are happy she is on the correct medication. Also during this time my mum broke her ankle and I was needed at home.

I officially went back to work yesterday, my question is that my most recent payslip will show I have received full sick pay while being off, will this affect the application.

Thanks in advance.

The lender may just ask for a letter from your work confiming youve returned to work, if the wage slip you send to them at the time has evidence of sick pay over a longer period. I cant speak for all lenders but it should not be much of an issue.

I've just been through a remortgage and a new mortgage application having been off sick for over 6 months.

It's exactly as Farmerbob says. The lenders wanted evidence of a pay slip without an element of sick pay on there, or a letter from work confirming I was back at work
