Put yourself first for a while. You're still young and have plenty of time to find Mr Right.
Well done on the bonus
How lovely to be so appreciated. I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Thank you SA, I know you are right. It is not the biggest priority I have

Forgive me, MSE, for I have sinned...
Well, not really but - yaknow.
I've had a mad week or so: we've moved offices at work and we're full steam into planning for the next financial year. The charity have asked me if I can host more often, so I've sorted out the admin for that, and I broke up with my sort-of-boyfriend which I felt like I had to do sort of slowly and over a period of a couple of days...
Now he's gone I've got more free time though, so I thought I should update YNAB. It's not looking terrible but I definitely shouldn't have spent £63 on dinner for me and a friend. I only did because she's had a really terrible time recently and I wanted to do something to make her feel better if only for a short time... thank goodness I'm getting this bonus soon, eh?!
I found a £20 Waterstones voucher in an old purse and it's still valid, so I'm looking forward to spending that... I also found about 45 euros in another old purse (can you tell I've been organising?!) so I'm considering seeing if I can get that changed back to sterling because it's my lodger's 17th birthday next month and I want to get her a hamper of girly gifts.Mortgage: £83,000

Hi JW - caught up with you at last!
Lots of things have been going on for you - your Amsterdam trip, your bonus ( how gratifying that must have been!:T).
Re the split with your boyfriend - it didn't sound that you were both on the same page so it's for the best. As SA writes, plenty of time to find Mr Right!
Well done on the clothes commitment. Have you heard of Project 333? It's where you commit to wearing only the same 33 items of clothing for three months it doesn't include sleepwear, fitness kit ( as long as it's only worn for working out!) or sentimental pieces of jewellery that you would wear all the time. It makes you think of what goes with what and what you actually need. At the end of the three months you can decide to get rid of the things that you didn't need. The next three months then starts and you pick out what 33 items you require for the next period - which is a new season. You can google the website and there's lots of videos on YouTube that people have posted showing how they have got on!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

There was that thing that Gok Wan did a few years ago where he said you only needed 25 things in your wardrobe. Thought that it was a great idea in theory but in practice - in my dreams :rotfl:
You sound like a very kind, thoughtful person

Have enjoyed reading your diary, and you're in a great position to move forward. You sound very kind and generous, so just make sure you show yourself the same appreciation

You are all the loveliest people, thank you very much!
The horrific thing about all of that I wrote above about waiting around and not wanting to meet anyone is that a friend I talked through some of the finer details of getting rid of my most recent boyfriend with has rather suddenly decided he has significant feelings for me.
This wouldn't be a problem, if it weren't for the fact that I've had a crush on him forever (I didn't think he knew), so my head is in a huge tailspin. He lives in London, which is hundreds of miles and pounds away from me so I can't honestly see anything happening seriously, but I feel very confused/happy/tired (as he keeps calling me at like 11pm for 2/3 hours).
UGH!!
Anyway, got paid today so I'm hoping to reconcile YNAB over the weekend and make a decision about whether I intend to keep it as I have about a weeks' access left before it runs out of free trial :0
Hope everyone has a spectacular weekend!Mortgage: £83,000

Oh that's a turn up for the books. Could it work? Don't give up a chance of happiness. He sounds keen and you fancy him .....
That aside, have a fab weekend
