Selling Reservation Numbers For Wii's

  • we have been told to put all of our wii's on sob (display) when they come in. That means that they cannot be reserved, only brought instore. It was in a message from head office so must have gone national?

In my opinion Argos should not allow any reservations on the Wii's and just sell them in stores on a first come first served basis.

Yip, and have hundreds, if not thousands of people trawling their !!!! round stores looking for Wiis. I only managed to get one earlier this year by driving 40 miles to a store to get one after I had reserved it. But you would rather I spent the fuel and time driving around central Scotland store to store every weekend on the off chance I might find a store with one in stock?

Don't let a few bad apples who sell reservation numbers screw it up for every genuine customer who just wants to buy one.

    Cheers

    Is this thread ironic?

how about they are really desperate people with kids and too little food who are using their ingenuity to earn a couple of pounds? I don't find that disgusting or wrong.

or look at it as they are giving a service - the people who buy the reservation didn't not have to organise themselves to reserve one while it was still for sale but they still get a guaranteed purchase.

are the folks who buy the reservation number not genuine customers?

as for "absolutely disgusting" behaviour being expected of everyone who sells on eBay - now that is funny - pretending to insult millions of people at once, very clever.

Desperate people with kids and too little food:confused: yet they have a nice computer setup and broadband connection:confused:

This smacks of "tickle me elmo" people claimed last year they bought them up because they where poor and wanted to earn a few quid, yet they could afford to buy 10 or 20 in the 1 go in the first place:eek:

I sell and buy on Ebay so would not consider all fellow ebayers behaviour "absolutely disgusting" althought I have dealt with a few MUPPETS;)

Finally this site is called "Money Saving Expert" not "Money Making Rip People Off Expert" we are a very friendly bunch here too, just don't try and rip us off:rolleyes:
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

I too find the practice of 'reserving for profit' really offensive. My passion is concerts and i missed out on tickets to a concert i really wanted to go to as alot of tickets were bought either by tots of 'selling for profit' merchants.

I KNOW ITS A FREE MARKET but try telling that to someone who has a child desperate for a WII or who misses out on concert tickets because of this. Its not fair.

When i saw george michael (again after a fluke find of tickets from a genuine agent after originally sold out) there pockets of seats (ie lots fo 4 togethers) for a sold out concert we assume these were bought by people trying to ebay them and then not being able to sell tickets (half of me says - good they might not try it again and half of me is gutted that genuine fans couldnt get the tickets).

I suppose at the end of the day its up to argos policy and people conscience

  • Like it or not thats the way of the world today. Personally i find it very disturbing that people actually get "Desperate" in persuit of these things!! ........Bring back hanging i say!!
