I think "tumbled" is more than a slight exaggeration for a 0.7% annual fall. Their problem of course isn't falling house prices, but reduced volume, and increased competition from online agents.

Now isn't the time to sell, prices will be on the up before the year is out.

Autumn isn't a good time to market a property.

Now to me, means sometime in the next few years (not next week). I can't/won't sell this tax year anyway, as I have already sold shares up to my CGT allowance.

Didn't suggest selling this year at all.

I think you've read a different set of accounts to me.

You're not in an exposed position anyway Chuck. I'm pretty sure you were on the right side of timing when it comes to buying property. There will be a lot of people who will see a net gain, even if there is a slight drop.

My only real concern is with late entrants to the London market, particularly those who over extend themselves. This is what hurt people in the early 90s crash.
  • It saddens me that people like Graham spend their lives googling House Price Crash rather than knuckling down and getting on with life. What a waste of time and money renting just to pay off your landlords mortgage for him. Graham it!!!8217;s high time that you came to your senses, cut your losses, and moved on.

I remember that well, I bought mostly in the early 90's, during that crash. You are correct, I'm not exposed at all, it is just that I've just had enough of investment property after 27 years, and as I near the end, a little impatience is surfacing.

Unless something has changed, I think Graham bought years ago in a shared ownership scheme.

  • No that is my mistake. I keep getting Graham and Crashy confused. There is a certain tone of sadness threaded through both their postings.
