She has been there just over 20 years.
It's the whole company they may be shutting down if they cannot sell the place to someone else.
I'm really hoping that a UK company takes them over again cos at the moment they are owned by a US company.

Morning all,
Still no update from my Mums employer, should be next week for an update.
One of the women who has been there longer than my Mum has just handed in her notice, she has no job to go to!
I think that is crazy, we're still holding out for good news that someone will just buy the place.
If that doesn't go through I can afford the bills but just means my savings plans for my own place would go on hold for a bit.

That would be ideal.
If it comes to that I am sure they would have to give her something.

Dont quote me but worst case senario would be she claims from the goverment fund ( I think).
Did you say she had been there 20 years?
Good idea to speak with ACAS.

You’re right beanie. There is a government fund to cover statutory redundancy costs if an employer can’t payMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I was made redundant 7 years ago and went through the government system to reclaim wages. It took a couple of months to get anything from them but it did get sorted eventually. Hope some reading will give you and your mum some reassurance.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Main thing is you got what you were entitled to.
We would be fine for a couple of months while we had to wait.
