Doing nothing is not an option for me, as missing front tooth is too obvious, and I can not pronounce 'S' and 'F' - a huge disadvantage.

So, in this case, I will look for another dentist that I could visit in person. Thank you

So the dentist proposing the bridge hasn't seen you?
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Then it's a rather worthless opinion. There could be all sorts of problems that could be created by removing crowns and turning them into a bridge. On the other hand there might not. But without seeing you, the teeth, and X-rays of them, no ethical dentist should really be giving you treatment plans.

    hmmmmm.

I have made an appointment with another dentist to take 2nd opinion.
  • Er, yer, it's still £250 for a piece of plastic.
Bit of moulding, bit of grinding.
    2 hours max.
    2 x £10= £20 + parts= £22

Not as though they took 25 hours is it. Ok, a bit of skill involved but so is there in most manufacturers. I used to be a engineer, all the same. Lol, skilled technicians, lol

LMAO, This is just too funny. Go through years of studying and training to be on a tenner an hour??? What kind of "engineer" gets a tenner an hour?? Or are engineers allowed to earn much more?

But seems to be more of an issue of paying NHS Dental charges (the cheapest options and charges possible). Prices are fixed at a low amount.
Prices only going in one direction which is up. Look after whats left or get used to paying £150 plus an hour (and that's probably a cheap surgery to run)
  • Based on advice, I am getting implants here in UK

  • Seems like I have upset some people on here saying what I believe is the truth. Dentists don't have your best interests at heart. They are simply guided by money.
This isn't how a NHS dentist should be.

I went to the dentist again recently with a chipped tooth. It simply needed a filling. According to NHS bands, this should be £59.10
    It takes 5 mins.
"Sorry Mr Idontlikemondays, we don't do white fillings on the NHS (even thought the NHS says it can) so it will cost you £110 to have it done privately."
It's the same story everytime you visit or whichever one you visit. The NHS shouldn't be a license to print money for Dentist. This is where it's all gone wrong.
They simply won't do a filling anymore. It's got to be a Bridge or a Crown or Implants at £7,000.
The whole industry needs overhauling and put back into proper NHS hands!
Oh and I'm still stuck with a plastic denture that looks and feels terrible because I can't afford the £800+ for a 2 gap tooth bridge. It's a joke!
