hi
i work in a 1992 university... i would like to retire my full time pensionable role but keep on my part time tutoring with another university which is not pensionable as well as being an external at another uni
my interpretation of The tps website suggests i must stop all...if iam wishing to claim my pension...but these other two small roles do not involve pension contributions... can someone help.... thanks

Not clear from your question if your two proposed new roles are 'eligible employments' (i.e. you could join the TPS if you chose). Why not contact the TPS administrators and get them to confirm - give them full details of where/what you'll be doing and they should be able to help. https://www.teacherspensions.co.uk/public/contact-us.aspx0

If you return to UK based pensionable teaching work after retiring it is my understanding that your pension (including past added years and AP) plus any earnings you get from pensionable teaching must be less than your ‘salary of reference’ ( I think they call it ). This amount is shown on your pension documentation from TPS.
Because of the less than inflation rises staff have received since 2010 this is going to be based on pay probably for the three years from 2008.
Again AIUI If you exceed this limit your pension may (will) be subject to abatement (sounds bad).
I am in a similar position and have undertaken two short additional contracts since retiring last August for two other institutions. In the first case I got a formal reply from the first university confirming that the position was not pensionable – good enough for me.
The second short assignment was/is in China working for another UK university (where I currently am). This may or may not be pensionable, but if it is it will not take me over the limit I mentioned above.
All this being said it my understanding of the regulations and it is very much worth phoning Mowden Hall because they will take you through the regulations in slow time and answer your questions. In the few times I have had to phone them over the years I have found the staff on the phones to be very good.0
