L&C?? Or Independent Advisor or Direct?

L&C got me a much better deal than I could have ever expected. MA was great, case manager pretty slow. Not their fault - business model means they're all overloaded.
I think if you're angsty and impatient (like me) then go with someone else.0 -
We approached L&C when we first started looking for mortgages and were told we had no chance due to some old-ish adverse credit. They advised us to wait 12 months then try again when the adverse bits dropped off my credit report and that was that.
We then found a local, independent broker who got us a great deal at a rate we never thought we could get - we're currently waiting to exchange contracts. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a broker.0 -
Do L&C try and push their conveyance or other services to make up for the lack of a fee? Just something I heard and wanted to know if any truth in it.0

Not in my experience,0

That was a very reassuring post about. Could you please share the details of your local mortgage advisor.
Thanks in advance0 -
My experience with L&C has been awful and if we weren't at the very end of the process we would have stopped using them. The broker from L&C has been great but as soon as it got to the case manager is when it went downhill. No communication unless we asked for updates, to this day I havnt spoken to our case manager on the phone - when I call in I get a receptionist and the magically 5 mins later she will email a response to an email sent 4/5 days ago. There was a 5 week delays from them letting us know the lender needed more documents which lead to the lender rejecting our mortgage application.
We are FTB, full time employment and the property we are buying is chain free so it's not like our case is particularly complicated.
Throughly disappointed.0
