Wow, 39 payments will pass in no time :) Good luck with the spending diary.

  • Second payment gone out to stepchange today, although they have written to me saying that I need to contact Hoist about a payment I'm making to them towards my Aqua card - funny thing is it seemed to go through alright last month. I have emailed Hoist and so will wait and see what that's about. Stepchange have said they will hold it open for six weeks but if they don't hear anything back by then they will allocate that payment between the others.

I am paying £385 a month towards debts of £13k so I am looking at it as every third month that's another grand down:j. Absolutely going to stick to it this time and let Stepchange do it for me, I feel so much better already.

No trick or treaters for me last night - not that I mind - not wishing to sound miserable but it's lights off for me nice and early on 31 October.

For the whole of October I kept my little spending diary going - just to see where I spent money and it is shocking the amount of money I waste even now I'm on a dmp. I am considering upping my payment to Stepchange which will not only get rid of the debt sooner, but will also focus my mind more on knowing that what I've got left after bills is all I have left. Or I could put it all to one side, I have read that a lot of people do that. I just know that as soon as I commit to a higher amount, something will happen.

I can't believe it's 1 November already - I'm sure these years are starting to go quicker.

I've recently spent a lovely couple of days with my sister - I speak to her nearly every day but we never really spend any quality time together. We found some scary mini-series on Netflix and with popcorn in one hand and a cuppa in the other, we made our way through it. Was great.

Still not decorated my bedroom but I can live with that for now. I was going to go to slimming world, went twice and didn't go anymore - I'm doing my own thing. Saying that, I'm off for a walk around the park now - get some fresh air.

Save the extra cash - you'll either have a healthy emergency fund or can use it towards the end of your DMP to clear the debt.
