Uniform Tax Rebate

Evening moneysavers,

I've recently applied for a uniform tax rebate and my tax code has changed from 1185L to 1191L does this mean the rebate has ben successful?

yes, the rebate is an extra £60 added to your tax free income

1191 - 1185 = 6
all tax codes leave off the 0 at the end, so £11,910 - £11,850 = £60

I Do not have to wear a uniform for paid work, however I volunteer for the Coast Watch Service and have to buy my own uniform, would this qualify for a tax rebate?

no it would not. 
The uniform has to be in relation to paid employment, not voluntary work

Although I think most of us would think of this as being just a little mean!  True but till mean.

easy enough to edit via the wheel symbol, but a pain to re-edit, as the only (?) way I found is go out and then come back into the whole thread to get the wheel up again
