Buying on the top of Donegall Road?

We're ftb with a fairly small budget and we've seen a house at the top of the Donegall Road. It's a large house for money with a decent garden, and we can afford it. It's a semi detached though not sure when it was built.

We're currently renting in South Belfast but we can't afford to buy here. We're a mixed family - I'm from West Belfast (as it my entire family) and my husband is English. My family think this area is fine but I've lived away a long time and only recently returned and finding it hard to judge and to feel comfortable making an offer. We've seen a lot of other houses in other areas but they've all got absolutely tiny bedrooms and no room to grow.

Any thoughts? Does anyone live there?

  • Sorry just to add by top I mean the Falls End / St James, not the Village which I'd never even consider as a Catholic!!

I might consider the St James area, just a little further over beside the Park Centre. Families mainly not renters. Small tidy well kept area. If you are looking in this general location .
