Mortgage Application - Halifax

About to put an offer in on a house and have been reading up on the mortgage application (already have an AIP from the Halifax). My worry is that my husband had a CCJ on his credit file which dropped off Aug 2016 (as the 6 years had passed), and the problem is is that he is still making monthly payments of £15 per month towards the debt. The debt originated in 2005 and was originally £6500, he has been paying it off since he got the CCJ in 2010 to the company who bought the debt Link Financial, so we assume he has about £5200 or thereabouts still owing. As far as he can remember the payment plan was agreed through the court but he has had no further contact or communication with Link Financial since setting up the direct debit 7 years ago. There was never an IVA or DMP listed on his credit file all, that was shown was the CCJ which is now gone. Apart from this my husbands credit rating is now excellent. We are now worried that these monthly payments to LINK financial are going to cause us problems with our mortgage application and are unsure how to proceed. We have considered phoning Link Financial to settle the debt in full but are unsure this close to making a mortgage application if that is going to help? It can't show up as being satisfied as the CCJ is no longer listed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you need to engage a broker who deals in adverse credit and give your credit files from all the agencies. Is your husband still paying off the CCJ? If you are then the debt is still there and will affect affordability"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

If its dropped off his credit file then it will have no impact on a mortgage application, I wouldn't even mention it unless specifically asked, once it drops off the file there is no CCJ."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
