Issues with contactless after BR

Hi all,
Looking for advice for a friend.
She’s been with Barclays since BR and discharged 4 years ago. She’s had contactless on her bank card since then but can’t add it onto her phone to use Apple Pay. Does anyone know if this a thing with Barclays? Has anyone else had success?
We’ve spoken to them on the phone and they say to go instore. Went instore and they said there’s no reason she can’t have it - but it just says “your card issuer doesn’t yet accept Apple Pay”
Failing that, we might look at a transfer of banks - does anyone have recommendations for a new bank that’ll take people post BR and allow Apple Pay? BR was May 2013, discharged May2014.
Thanks

I've not gone bankrupt yet but I've already opened up a basic bank account with the Co-op. They have confirmed that the account will stay open once I've gone bankrupt as that's one of the reasons they offer the account. The card isn't contactless but I have it connected to Apple Pay and use it all the time.0
