Lengthening a wedding dress...

Hello

Hoping someone can help me. I've found my dream dress in a sample (so much cheaper) although I am worried it won't be long enough. The sample is 54" from the center dip to the bottom of the lace. I've measured myself and in heels I'd need an extra 3 inches.

The dress is Maggie Sottero Callie (can't add a link annoyingly!).

Do you think it would be possible to lengthen, or add a petticoat or similar? The underskirt is longer.

it is usually easy enough for someone who knows what they are doing but obviously get it done by a decent seamstress not your great aunties bestie Mabel who makes curtains... you need to have some assurance it will be done well. I've seen so many alterations done by idiots who have totally trashed dresses.

Dresses are usually very very long.. When I got married a million years ago mine was taken up 14 inches!!!

Without seeing the design of the dress, it's virtually impossible to say.
It would not have been possible to lengthen my sister's wedding dress.



Can you show the dress to a proper seamstress and ask their opinion?


Is the length right when you wear heels?
Could you consider a change of shoes to flats?
