Company Car Tax

Hello,

Firstly, let me apologise if this is in the wrong thread, or has previously been answered. (I have looked but cannot find the answer to my question).

Essentially, I would like to know the following:

I accepted a company car in May last year, but was made redundant in September. It appears that I have been taxed my P11d rate on the car (£110 a month) for each month until my new tax code came into play on the 1st of April.

Is this correct? HMRC are saying that because I took the company car on, they split the cost across the financial year, even after I left the company - Just looking for verification please.

Thanks in advance!

Have you received form P11d from your employer? This will show the taxable benefit for the period you had the car. Once HMRC receive their copy of the P11d they will recalculate your tax position.
