I think it's a great system and does focus your mind. I hate chip and pin - it is too damn easy!

Right just been out for petrol and cashback... Petrol was in budget and I spent £4.24 in the supermarket so rather than getting that £25 cashback I was going to I only got £20 I thought that it made up for it.

    Good luck!

  • I too am a cash person for the weekly stuff like fuel, food, going out, etc etc
I have had weeks when the money has gone almost straight away which is a bit of a shock to the system! and have had times when had no money all week cos its all gone in the first day! Am getting more used to it now and it definitely focuses the mind when buying things as to what else you need the money for during the week.

  • hi everyone

Think its a great idea to just use cash. Its not always easy but definately makes you think about things abit more!!

I did the grocery challenge last month and started writing everything down that we buy. God was i shocked:eek: I now know why we are always overdrawn and how the credit cards got so out of control:eek:  I'm carrying on writing it all down. Husband gets paid into the bank I get old fashion pay packet with cash. I try not to use bank now and just use my cash. Sometimes it works but hopefully ONE day (when???) we won't have credit cards or be overdrawn:rotfl:
  • I have now just finished my first month of cash and it has worked really really well.

DD's come out of one account and they are then very easy to track and do not confuse the situation

Cash is drawn weekly from another account according to what we have budgeted for, being weekly it is not a huge problem if you run out early - its only a few days to wait!

This has enabled me to have my best month ever of paying off my debts, up by about 30%.

    Cheers all
