Last time I had proper flu I only managed to get to the loo by ricocheting off the hall walls like a pinball. I was so dizzy I couldn't stand up, and I couldn't keep my eyes open. Emailing and phone calls were completely out of the question. Talking was out of the question, I couldn't even manage to phone in sick.
Having seen parent suffer with genuine migraines, there was no way she could have read phone numbers or tolerated any sort of screen.

Some of us don't go off sick often, but when we do it's not "only
    flu.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
