    Hiya,

I think the first thing you need to do is contact one of the debt charities, CCCS, payplan or the citizens advice bureau. They should be able to help you as you are really struggling.

Does your OH know about these debts?

I think you should think about trying to earn some extra cash, either with an evening/weekend job or by working online. You can answer surveys, do what we call daily clicks on cash back sites or work answering questions for companies. Sorry I dont know the details of those companies. For the daily clicks on cashback sites (Quidco, Topcashback, pigsback etc) Have a look on the freebies board for specific details.

Have you thought about selling on Amazon/Ebay to raise some extra cash?

Hi a-new-start, well done for posting.

First thing is to sort the Council Tax bill as that's a priority debt, so please please give that your attention first.

Then you need to find out what the APRs are on the other debts and then work out how much you can afford to pay per month.

  • I think we need a bit more info. What do you pay for Gas and Elec, Rent, Food etc?

What are your total outgoings? What are you paying towards any of your debt? If you give us full details we can try help.

Telephone/broadband £50pm - why not switch to sky to halve this, also does this include any mobiles you may have (also use quidco as i think they will give you cashback for signing up with sky)

Are there any more outgoings or does the OH pay for all these?

    Outgoings 100 per month

We will need Aprs & minimum monthly payments here to arrange the order you can repay this with.

I also have an outstanding Council Tax bill totaling £1029 that is being delt with by lawson mclaine baliffs who i pay as much as i can but have no offical arrangement although need to get one in place

Id get one in place asap, also i hope you are getting receipts, i dont trust bailiffs

When we have the rest of the information we will be able to help you design a plan :)

    Welcome to the board.

I think at the moment its hard to advise as im not sure all the info is there, but i think once we have that then we can help more.

Also just read up on the board for general hints and tips.

    Good luck

  • According to your SOA you have £921 'spare' every month to pay pack your debts. This is a considerable amount and should enable you to pay off your debts relatively quickly. However, I have a feeling that your SOA is not complete, I know your OH pays for the bills but who pays for haircuts/birthdays/other incidentals? What about christmas savings? transport?

Ive just read your OH pays most of the bills. Dur!!!

Oh you pay £50 for phone-internet. There is better deals out there. You have 921 left per month. Obviously you spend some of that on your daughter. Does OH buy all the food?

What do you pay off your debts ATM. What are the APRs?

Barcleycard (now with 1st credit) £1140.71
Additions £715.00 (in arrears and incuring charges each month) You need to start paying of as much as you can
Studio Cards £252.79 (again in arrears) Same as above.
Shop Direct (now with SRJ debt no idea what this debt is) £400.63
Greenwoods (now with credit security / wescot) £215.00

I dont know how much you have to pay off the above debts but surely you could aim to paying £500 of this per month.

We can try help just need a bit more info.

  • It appears your outgoings are much higher than you state, otherwise all these could be paid within 12 months.

As everyone else says - pay bailiff first (with receipts) as Council Tax can be extremely difficult.

Which of the debts are you actually paying and how much?

You can request the original credit agreement for a £1 fee and £4.10 guaranteed special delivery postage. If any are unable to respond with the actual agreement you have the option of not paying or offering a final settlement. In the latter case, make sure they agree to delete your credit file entry on the basis that they would get nothing otherwise.

Which are not chasing you? These are not priority at the moment but it pays not to forget for future planning. Do not disturb these until they contact you though.
