Freehold purchase -Solicitor's fees

What are the fees typically charged by solicitors in Yorkshire for a freehold purchase for a leasehold house. I have been asking around and the fees quoted have varied from a flat rate of £300 to variable rates going up to more than £1000!

Make sure the £300 fee includes everything that the £1K fee does!

And quality of service, convenience etc is worth paying for - I know this is a 'moneysaving' site but sometimes cheapest can cost more in the long-run, something Martin does not always highlight!
