Remortgaging

I have been looking into this to see if it's worth doing. I know there are guides and such like to help me through it, but just wondered if I had all the fees applicable right (I have been looking at Britannia, if that helps).
Reservation fee: varies quite a lot (£399 upwards)
Valuation fee: £200
Admin fee: £100 (not payable on all mortgages)
Conveyancing fee: £180 approx (this is what Britannia lady told me)
I asked my boss (who is a solicitor) about remortgaging. He probably won't charge me as he hasn't before, but then he started going on about a whole load more fees I would incur (not sure if he was trying to put me off remortgaging).
Search fees, bank telegraphic fees, redemption fees and he mentioned an additional figure for these of £500! Is this right? Are there any more fees lurking around that I haven't thought of?
