I would buy a larger house,we are letting a section of our home on Airbnb and booking.com and we are really busy.We have done it so the guests are separate to us,I just hand them a key and they are on their own,I just clean in between guests. Its easy money.

But moving could cost in the region of £20k+ on fees alone. How long would it take before you recoup your money?

I'd re-iterate the point lesson learned has very wisely made. Whatever you do - don't put all your eggs in one basket. A diverse portfolio - including liquid cash, stocks and shares, property etc is much safer from a risk point of view.

If you're interested in simple living, then you might enjoy The Minimalists and Becoming Minimalist - both very sensible blogs on the type of lifestyle you want to pursue. There's also the Frugalwoods. But I find Mr Money Mustache and Frugalwoods to be very dubious advice for the UK. MMM made his money in IT, before starting to live simply and FW basically live on borrowed money, if the stock market crashes, they go with it. But if you can pick and choose and get past some of their fervent preaching, there is some goods info to be gleaned.

I am another fan of the minimalists blogs. I agree that Mr MoneyMoustache is perhaps more attuned to the US and can be a bit preachy and hardcore. Interesting though.
