Hi All
I am new to posting, but have taken a ton of advice from this site, so hoping to get a little more...
Here’s a little bit of background - started a DMP in 2006 following a break up with partner, debts were not all mine but took full reponsibility and have paid off close to 50k. I have finally just finished paying all of the money back (beginning of April 18) :j Since starting the DMP the only credit I have had is an agreed overdraft and mobile phone, never missed any payments and conducted my bank account properly. The defaults that occurred initially whilst sorting out the DMP have long since gone, I have a good credit report at present showing green ticks for the last 6 years for my bank and also the closed accounts relating to the mobile phone.
I am currently thinking about applying for a mortgage under the Help to Buy scheme and with a 5% deposit which I have save over the last two months. What I would like to know is would I still need to seek a mortgage from an adverse provider?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
Nic

I think you most likely would have to go to an adverse provider, and you would have many more options available to you and be offered much better rates if you could save more than the bare minimum and get to a 10% deposit, your adverse history would then be further behind you also.0
