Saving for Disneyland, Paris

I'd be interested to know how you save - I'm going on holiday to China next year and need to get £1k together myself by March! Quidco here I come!:A0

The only problem with my savin gis that christmas is in the way!! I am planning on doing most of the crimbo shoping on line and making a few quid through cashback sites that way. And also ebay selling, we'll have an empty house come March!! but I hate clutter any way hehe.
I don't really want to go to Florida, this will be our first holiday as a family, just the three of us and also our first holiday outside the country, for al three of us. France seemed perfect, my daughter is only in reception class and I don't think all the plane travel, possibility of delays etc would suit her, or me. I'm a stress head at the best of times! I know France will also be a lot of travel for My little one to but train to euro train, then euro tunnel strait to disney sounds ideal. I have also found that certain dates in March ar under 12's travel and stay for free, but I'll probably need to pre book that, darn!!
I am hoping to get some money for Christmas this year to put in the pot, instead of buying useless tat in the sales that in all honesty I only buy because it's so cheap, I don't need it.
I got all my paper and cards in feb, when they have the final final reductions, all the posh stuff. I got cards for my daughters class mated for 49p for the lot. But this time I am not buying hair care kits and make up bags etc from boots because they have gone down to a reasonable price.......I swear!
Just put 8p in the penny jar....long way to go but every penny counts eyBy this time next year we'll be millionaires......
Personal challenge- Make an extra£5 a day for May from may 6th....and not spend it!0 -
"I have a greasy palm and a cashbag account. I will do the majority of my christmas shopping online to make sure I am getting cash back too."
Take a look at Topcashback, Quidco and Clickcashback for your online shopping, they all pay highers rates than the 2 you are using now. Have a look at joining survey sites, some you get hard cash for.0 -
Hiya All,
I'm looking to go to Disneyland Paris next year and wondered if anyone could recommend any cheap travel agents? I know that Disneyland themselves have often been cheap but they seem to be working out dearer than others at the moment. Any help much appreciated.

Hi there,
We (me, DH and DD - then 11) went to Disneyland Paris Nov 2005. We stayed in the Newport Bay hotel in the resort, we flew from Leeds/Bradford airport and stayed for 4 nights (got a 5th one free), passes into both parks for all 5 days and it cost us £1,500. This included food but not souvenir shopping - allow another £100 - £150.
Anyway, you DEFINITELY won't need £3,000 IMHO
Have a great time when you do go :jDMP starts June 2012, £38,180.
Balance June 2015 £26,046 (paid off 32%)

We are going to disney paris in 11 days! Our first time. We are going with 3 under 5's so kids go free anyway. But we are going by eurotunnel paid by tesco vouchers. (£110 in cash was quoted) Then a 3hr drive to disney. We travelled to south of France last April so confident of doing the comparitivly short route to Paris! We won a voucher for our stay but it was £340 on disney site. (quidco cashback too) We dont plan on spending more than £200 while there. As self catering will be making food for packed lunches.
So going by that i would expect it to cost less than £1k for a 4 day trip.
Euro breakdown is costing £12.50. We have free travel insurance as advantage gold customers.0 -
I know staying in Eurodisney is considered a must, but we went there a few years ago and stayed in a comfort inn about 15 mins drive, it would save you loads. Have you considered camping? Another tip as well, don't tell the kids you are going (are you driving?) and watch the faces when they see the castle from the roadside and they suddenly get excited - pricelessThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. We have a holiday booked for March next year for 2 adults and 3 kids ages 6,7, and 10 and we are staying in the Newport Bay (i think) We paid £1600 and that includes breakfast, evening meal and character breakfast.
It DOESNT include getting there. Seemingly Eurostar are starting up a new system where you can travel from any train station in the UK for a flat rate, as we live in Scotland then this seems ok, we plan to drive to birmingham one day then continue the following day on the train, break up the journey for the kids and have an extra day holiday! We are planning to use our clubcard points to cover the Eurostar.
I think you have over estimated how much it will cost but that is sooooo much better than underestimated. I would aim to get £3000 and anything that is left over is a bonus, doesnt mean you HAVE to spend it!!!! :-)
