How can I pay touchless using my phone?

Hi!
How can I pay touching my phone instead of my debit card?
Is it always compatible? Is there any fee? Is it secure?

I tried to install Google Pay but it says it needs to update Google Play and after doing so it doesn't move on.

What's the best alternative? Or Google Pay is the best?

Btw I use halifax visa.

Your phone needs NFC (Near-field communication), if it has it off you go. I use it via Apple pay on my iphone.

Don't be so sure, I got caught out with an Android (never again) phone. I think the only choices are Android pay and Apple pay depending on ios. Just download the appropriate one and give it a go.

That obviosulyu a better idea than looking it up on line or telling us the model.

No not all phones have it. Unless it's a flagship phone cuts are made in various areas and the pointless phone to pay is often one of them.

You need to get google pay, folllow the instructions, its really easy to setup.

Not always compatible.
Usually no fee.
