Put in the expenses as normal. You claim what you paid - the mechanism you use to pay is irrelevant. If you had a cashback credit card you wouldn't be worrying would you?

Agree with greenbee - just put the expense in as normal.

At work, when I buy things at Sainsbury's, I use my Nectar card and Tesco I use my Clubcard. I don't declare it - it's nothing to do with them really.

Claim the amount on receipt. It makes no difference if there is cashback.

I couldn’t wait to get home last night after a busy day at work and with a thumping headache the train journey seemed to go on forever.

I fed the fish, Laurel & Hardy, took a couple of tablets, had a lay down and woke up in the early hours of this morning in darkness and still dressed! My meal from Wednesday is still sitting in the fridge and if it smells ok later (seems ok this morning) will have that tonight. Meal plan has gone to pot since Wednesday evening. Luckily, no waste as it’s still in the freezer. L&H probably think I am the most unsociable owner as I usually spend a bit of time playing with them but am feeling much better this morning so extra play time later today.

Thank you for your responses regarding my moral dilemma and the reassurances I haven’t done anything wrong. If I had been using a cashback card I probably wouldn’t have given it another thought but the fact I logged into my Quidco account somehow made the transactions seem rather deceitful. I will no longer dwell on it and submit my expenses next week in time for the deadline. The money in there will go towards one of my 0% deals ending next year so I could really do with boosting the balance as much as possible.

Apart from work expenses no other money was spent yesterday. Am not including those as I will be reimbursed.

Not much interest has been shown on my two items on eBay as yet. If they don’t sell will reduce the price and relist.

    So, plans for today:
    • Housework. 2 friends are coming round for coffee tomorrow afternoon. It’s amazing how quickly things need doing considering I am out virtually 12 hours a day Monday to Friday.
    • Clear out and tidy up the wardrobes and drawers to free up some space

    Plans for the weekend:

    • Meal plan for next week including Sunday as I won’t be visiting my parents this weekend
    • Food shopping from the farm shop
    • Pay B/C £144 to get the balance down to fractionally under £7K. I am going to do this tomorrow morning as my Statement closes today.

No lunch planning required for next week as have 2 sandwiches in the freezer already and shall buy a jacket potato to be added to the shopping list so I can have one hot lunch.

Not sure what has happened to the weather. It's dull and rather chilly here at the moment. Hopefully it will brighten up later.

Yesterday ended up being a spend day as I decided to do the shopping to save time today. Total spend £21.69. I bought 6 mini cupcakes that weren't on the list (more below). Traffic was a nightmare on the way back and took me over an hour to get home

This morning I have made the payment to Barclaycard to bring it down to £6,999.25 :j. Only another week or so to go and the debt will be under £21,000. Still an awful lot of money but it's going down...

I've turned coffee into afternoon tea :) and made prawn & mayo and ham & cucumber sandwiches and the mini cupcakes to go with it for my friends. We love a good catch up every couple of months or so.

After a wet start, it's turned into a beautiful day here. Balcony doors and windows are open and there is a welcoming cool breeze throughout. :D

Enjoy your afternoon tea with your friends. It is pleasantly warm here too. Great news on the debt getting below £21k in a few weeks time. How great will it be to see it below £20k in a few months time hopefully.

From almost £29k in December to just below £21k in June that is £8k in 6 months repaid.

I have woken up this morning feeling a bit delicate. The idea of an afternoon tea was well received by my friends and have raised the bar! The only problem was it turned into an expensive evening with prosecco (lots of it) and a takeaway. We split the cost 3 ways so my entertainment budget now sits at £19.51 / £35. Champagne life style and brown ale money again! I did at least have a budget for it.

We watched the most spectacular lightning storm. It’s quiet here anyway but it felt very eerie not hearing thunder or rain which both joined in about an hour later.

Today will be a quiet day after yesterday (thank god say my neighbours). I need to sort out a meal plan but later, much later as I can’t even think about food let alone a meal plan.

Off to try and make myself look presentable. I do like a challenge. :)

Felt like a wasted day yesterday as I didn’t achieve very much other than not spending any money. I rather sheepishly called on my neighbour to apologise for any disturbance, but he looked a bit confused as he never heard anything other than the odd laughter and said I didn’t need to apologise for that. He was more interested in talking about the storms which kept him awake. Must remember to keep doors closed next time.

Feeling much more alive this morning so plans for today are:

    • Meal plan - yesterday was a ‘picking’ day and today will be the same if I don’t get organised
    • Sort out wardrobes and drawers

It’s looking like another beautiful day here. It’s warm already and L&H are lounging on the balcony. Am going to join them for half hour with a brew.
