Yes I agree thanks for the very positive responses. Ah the question as to how long we are all going to live eh! if we all knew that we'd be quids in! I turn 60 next month, I'm basing my estimations on getting to 85 if I'm lucky and I mean lucky. I know people are living longer et al however we've all got to be realistic and by the time I get to 85 my outgoings will have dwindled somewhat..plus family traits, HBP and other genetic or hereditary issues. In Scotland good old Nicola has made the basic rate 21% and minimum pricing for alcohol etc so who knows maybe I'll get beyond my target date. Thanks to all who replied. Brilliant forum and impartial advice..As Hughie Green used to say (for those who remember him) I think I'll take the money..0

Quite possibly, but my thinking is we may have expensive care needs if we live into our mid-eighties and beyond, so I'd still like a decent pension coming in.I know people are living longer et al however we've all got to be realistic and by the time I get to 85 my outgoings will have dwindled somewhat0 -
Thanks Audaxer, Yeah for me I'll have hoped I'll have passed it all over by then and stop the bloody council or other authorities from getting their grubby hands on it. Different strokes different folks...0
