This may be of help to All DFW or Not!!

Good Evening to everyone, this is my first post so bear with me, I have been reading alot on this website in the past couple of weeks or so and have found it very useful.

I would not say I was in debt to the extent that some people posting on the site are but I do have a CC debt and some bad spendin habits which can get out of hand every now and again. So I've decided to tackle them and face my financial failings at last (mainly prompted by brave people on this website).

First off I needed some help tracking all the ins and outs from my accounts and some way of having them all visible to see at a glance. I started to look for a money management software tool that would enable me to do this.

I've found one and whats more its free!!!

Its a program called money manager ex and its freeware (just goole this and it should come up -if you have trouble finding it, PM me and I will let you have the link as I'm not sure if I can post it). In the software you can set up all your different accounts, log all your repeating transactions (direct debits, standing orders etc), run reports to show where the money comes from and goes to and also do cashflow forcasting. Its great!

I have set up all my accounts, including ISA's savings, credit cards and my current account. It even has a comprehensive budgeting section which will show you everything you need to cover and as you fill in transactions on your accounts it tracks them against this budget.

If you are serious about knowing where your money is and tackling your debts by laying all your finances down in black and white then it can only help to get this software.

Give it a go and let me know what you think????

Thank you for reading this and I hope it helps someone out there.

    Welcome to MSE, blueone.

I hope you find the software useful, but I would caution other readers to consider whether or not it is the most appropriate way for THEM to manage their own money.

Before relying on the software completely, I'd check out the budget planner to see where your money does go (and to see if you've overlooked things (birthdays etc) that you then tend to pay by CC and increase overall debt / money mismanagement.

  • Sorry to Liz105, this was not a spam email just a genuine piece of software I have found!!!!

As I stated I am not in major debt I just have trouble with spending money (it burns holes in mine and my husbands pockets!!!) its not an easy way of letting someone (or something) manage your money its just a way of keeping track of it and knowing where you are!

Have a look at it before you dis it!!! Its freeware, no-one makes any money.

Ignore what I have said if you want to but don't knock my character!!!! I am a genuine individual and thought others were too!!!!

    Hi Blueone and welcome!

I will be looking at the freeware (too late to take in right now!) - I did a quick search and it has been mentioned on MSE before, but it is not something I remember seeing when I have been around, so thank you for bringing it to my attention and I am glad you have found something that has worked well for you.
