Does anyone still do a spring clean

Just wondering if you do an actual spring clean at this time of year or just do it as the year goes on.

Nearest I do to a spring clean is cleaning the windows. I don't bother so much with them in the winter. Apart from Windows, my house is as clean in the winter as it is in the summer.

No I don't, but I did work with someone who cleaned the corners of drawers and rooms before she went on holiday. She did say that she doesn't do that now :D

No , i wonder if, when the term 'spring clean' was invented - women were mostly working 50 hour weeks lol

No, mines a lick and a promise that never happens - it looks great til you open a cupboard
The opposite of what you know...is also true

Not so much a spring clean, more a "my parents are visiting" clean ...

Yes I do, it's time to get the chimney swept, the curtains cleaned and the summer ones put up, carpets washed and all walls washed. All furniture moved and hoovered under. Cupboards cleaned and out of date items thrown away. Duvets out in the sun. It's easier to keep a house clean now than fifty years ago but when the sun shines in the windows it's time to clean.

I certainly think about doing a spring clean. I think sometime in the summer I might get round to emptying and relining my kitchen cupboards, and if it actually gets warm I'll take the duvet down to the laundromat for a wash. But that's about it.

I do too. It's nice to feel that the house is really clean and I can then turn my attention to the garden.

I keep thinking about it but sit down till the feeling passes.

I am feeling quite pleased with myself today though. I bought some Astonish Mould & Mildew Remover from Savers for 99p and used it to clean the grout in a small area of my kitchen. It was amazingly good. Just got to get round to doing the rest of the kitchen.

Also having all the windows open and getting the first really thorough airing makes it pleasant but still cool enough to do stuff.
You don't want to be doing all that in the heat and humidity of summer.

Now isn't that odd how people see things differently :) I have windows open almost everyday of the year, but when the temperature gets above 25 degrees or there about, I keep the heat out close the windows and curtains stay shut.

No, I don't do anything either when the weather is that hot.

Something like that - we have our deep clean before Christmas as we host dad for 36 hours!
