Hi, stupidly heated up coffee pot with no water in it! Now smells of burnt coffee. Tried boiling water, fresh coffee brew/washed with detergent.

Any ideas how to get rid of burnt coffee taste/smell....or is it back to amazon/eBay for another one?:money::beer: thanks!

  • Try boiling vinegar in it, or put a layer of bicarbonate of soda in and leave for 24 hours...........

Will try the bicarb.....undiluted or mixed with water. Any ideas on how much to use 150 ml, 2 cup espresso.
  • Just put a layer of bicarb in the bottom, no liquid, the bicarb should absorb the smell if nothing else. after a few hours tip it out and rinse the pot well.

you could also try a Steradent tablet with hot water, leave overnight.
