Hi what's the minimum size beams an electrition would be happy to drill holes through in order to do a rewire. I have exposed beams in my very old property. I have measured the beams from upper floor to lower end of beam and they measure 7 inch deep X 3 inch wide.
TIA

We have exposed beams and the wiring goes around the beams on the surface, not through them.0

Thanks. Trouble is I have to get from one side of the room to the other and the beams are lying the opposite way .0

I don't think it's that simple! We would need to know how long they are, how far apart they are spaced, what load they are carrying, etc.
Having said that, if it's an old property a few holes for wiring won't hurt.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -

An electrician with the right experience will make their own decisions about cable routing (in discussion with you) to make sure it is safe and has minimal impact on the house."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

Room is 13 foot wide, joists have 15 inch space between each one and there are 11 beams across the width of the room. The Room above is currently empty but is/will be a large master bedroom.0
