Question for the self employed brokers

So after 12 yrs working as an employed broker for one of the largest mortgage advisor firms (with wide in the title - yes i know i stayed 12 years) finally left yesterday and today is my first day of self employment.
Should have left years ago but with young children and being the main earner there was always a comfort to having a regular wage and I earned very well.
So first day of self employment. Any hints and tips you can give me or words of encouragement that escaping the world of targets, pointless meetings and estate agents was the right move. I just hated the corporate way and want to advise how I see fit and the best for my clients not have to try and sell expensive products and awful solicitors.
I have joined a small independent firm so won't be completely on my own. Had to leave 12 yrs worth of clients behind but I am fortunate I do a lot of work with a housing association who are keeping me on their panel.
I feel a weight has lifted but also a bit scared.
Anyone else made the corporate jump?

All SE Broker have made the jump at some point.
When I started, a colleague told me to focus on the destination and the journey takes care of itself.
Two other things I hear from my business partner most weeks.
Dipping tap = full bath
