Ammending mortgage application?

Hi
Can you amend your mortgage application after submitting it or do you have to start the process all over again? I was originally going to be gifted money from my parents so I could still be left with some savings after buying a property. They can now no longer do this because of a family emergency and them needing the funds.
Can I amend my application with the lender to say all the deposit will now come from my savings and provide them with proof? Or will I have to submit a new application?
I’m at the beginning of the application process and now need to send my solicitor proof of deposit. I have not yet had my mortgage offer or valuation done.
Thanks
