Hi
Can't find anything on this, so here we go...
Yesterday I was on a train from Paddington to Cheltenham Spa. During the journey we were advised that there was a signal fault en route and we would have to get off at Swindon and "alternative transport" would be arranged.
When we got off at Swindon, we were advised that transport would be arranged in around 45 minutes.
I needed to get home before that in order that my wife could go out to work, so paid for a taxi instead.
Am I able to claim for the taxi?

I have do so between Stroud and Stonehouse on occasions when the train has not turned up and I have a ticket!
The compensation would have been limited to the price of the ticket, which would probably have been less than the loss arising from the spouse being late for work.
As always, the answer has to be "discuss this with station staff at the time".0 -
Had a feeling that would probably be the case. Thanks for rapid response though.0
